I first saw this meadow less than 6 weeks ago. I immediately fell in love.
I was lucky enough to acquire it 3 weeks ago.
My vision for Starlight Meadow is the long-term stewardship of the meadow and woodland. My objective is to create a resilient and sustainable site that supports biodiversity, encourages wildlife and protects the natural character of the landscape for years to come.
To help achieve this, the meadow is beginning a gradual transformation into a small, low-impact stargazing retreat designed around nature, dark skies and quiet enjoyment of the landscape. The aim is to create a sustainable source of income that helps fund the preservation and improvement of the land and the meadow's natural character.
Neighbours and existing walkers are already part of the rhythm of the meadow and, as the wildlife here is long accustomed to your presence, are welcome to continue enjoying the meadow.
Guests will be asked not to bring dogs, but I do not want to disrupt familiar local walking and dog walking routes through the meadow.
I hope to achieve the above objectives and aims through:
sensitive woodland management
habitat improvement
wildflower and pollinator-friendly management
low-impact infrastructure
a gradual, considered approach to change
My hope is that both guests and neighbours will come to appreciate the meadow not only as a peaceful place to spend time, but also as a landscape being actively cared for and improved.
Over the coming weeks you may notice:
deliveries arriving
small areas being prepared
low-impact tents and facilities appearing
occasional contractors on site
The long-term vision is to create a peaceful place where guests can connect with nature, experience dark skies and support the local economy, while retaining the calm and natural feel with which you are already familiar.
